At Wargrave House School we are passionate about providing opportunities for our young people to support their personal development.
Our approach is adaptive to our learners, and we utilise a robust PSHE and Careers Curriculum as well as a well-balanced events calendar to contribute to its delivery.
We strongly believe that we can help build positive lives for our young people through developing, promoting and enabling them to engage in rich experiences.
At Wargrave House School, we believe it is vital for our young people to develop a good set of skills that will support them in getting ready for adulthood. These skills will be linked to supporting learners in Independent Living; Friends, Relationships and Community, Good Health; and Employability.
It is important that learners gain a good understanding of finance in order to prepare themselves for adulthood. We aim to support our young people to be active and responsible financial citizens in and around our local community.
Financial education is important to all of our young people and families, and we believe that we can provide a strong foundation in financial understanding and a range of opportunities to learn and apply their knowledge and skills to allow them to flourish in the future and live financially secure and successful lives.
Our vision is that our young people possess the knowledge, skills and confidence in personal finance that enable them:
- to be resilient when faced with financial issues
- to show respect for other peoples’ personal financial situations
- to display responsibility when handling money and making important financial decisions about their lives
To achieve this, we tailor our curriculum by educating our young people about finance so that they develop knowledge, skills and attitudes in relation to money in order to equip them for life and enhance this through the maths and careers curriculum and through themed joint financial and enterprise activities.
